Semi Truck Accident Turns Deadly In Southern Illinois

A man was killed in a tractor-trailer accident last Saturday while riding his motorcycle in southern Illinois. The semi was driven by David Johnson, 69, of Moline and was stopped at the intersection of I-64 and Illinois 1 in White County. The truck then turned northbound onto Illinois 1 for reasons that are as yet unknown.

More Tractor Trailer Accidents Across the Nation

A 72-year-old woman died after she was in an accident Friday in North Dakota. Barbara Mueller was driving a Ford Explorer north approaching a bridge, when she ran part of the cargo on a semi truck heading south. The driver of the semi truck was in a Freightliner semi, and had experienced engine trouble and broke down on the bridge. When he restarted his semi and began to proceed south along the highway, two vehicles approached the bridge.

More Semi Truck Accidents Occurring

A semi-truck accident has occurred on Interstate 15 at exit 108 and has blocked both lanes of traffic for more than three hours on Wednesday. Idaho State Police were forced to route traffic off the freeway at exit 108. Reports of the incident reveal that the driver was attempting to overcorrect, when the semi turned over on its side. Luckily, the driver was able to get out of his truck and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. He was later treated and released.

Semi Accidents In the News

More semi-truck accidents to report. First, a two vehicle accident has had the eastbound lanes of I-4 near Longwood closed for several hours. Florida troopers said that an SUV collided with a semi truck and ejected one person from the vehicle. There were multiple victims with minor injuries and at least one person died. The eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed because the tractor trailer spilled its fuel all over the roadway.

Two More Semi Truck Accidents to Report

We have another semi truck accident to report. Apparently, the driver was speeding and unable to stop when he slammed into several vehicles on I-75 in Troy. A 19-year-old woman was killed and three others were injured, including himself. The wreck happened at 8:40 a.m. on I-75 approaching the Coolidge Highway and left the freeway shut down until the early afternoon.

Semi Truck Accidents On The Rise

Two semi truck drivers were arrested in connection with the fatal crash this past week. Melissa Sandoval died last Thursday morning after her car was struck twice and forced into the median by a semi truck, which was also heading north. Sandoval's car then crashed into the rear trailer of another semi truck.

Two More Accidents Involving Semi Trucks

A 10-year old was attempting to cross under the trailer of a semi truck with three other children and was run over and killed last night in Chicago. Malick Brown was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County. The four boys were trying to run under a UPS semi truck as it sat stopped at a stop sign on Cicero Avenue. It began to move with Malick under the trailer and he was crushed.

Autopsy to Tell Whether Heparin Killed Corpus Christi Infant

An autopsy will be performed on a newborn to determine whether an overdose of heparin may have played a part in its death. So far, two members of the staff at Christus Spohn Hospital South have taken leave. It's unclear whether heparin played a role in the child's death, because the newborn was already seriously ill and being cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit before dying Tuesday morning.

Tanker Truck Crash Shuts Down U.S. 220

A deadly tanker truck accident off of U.S. 220 in Roanoke, VA has left the interstate closed so cleaning crews could clean up the wreckage. Crews had to gain access to the site through Norfolk Southern Corp. property. Police spokesperson Aisha Johnson said that one body was found outside the truck and recovered from the scene. Nobody else was injured during the crash.
